Displaying special character ↓

Hi,
How can I display special characters like ↓ (down arrow) which are in extended set (above 255) using System.out? It displays ? instead of the character.
Thanks,
Kapil

Sorry, but I still haven't got the idea to display characters from extended set.

Have you read the doc for System.out?
What is it?
It's a PrintStream object.
What does a PrintStream output?
It outputs bytes.

When having problems with a method or class, read the doc. It can explain what is happening.

I think the answer is that you can't. Even if you could finagle something to make it work on your particular system, it wouldn't work on a different system.
