Hi all,

I created a swing app that will execute just fine from the command line when not in a JAR file. But, when I create the JAR and try to execute through windows double clicking or command line, I get the following exception (pasted at the end of the post). I have all the class files in the same package and create the jar including the JDBC connection drivers. I am stumped , although it seems to be an issue with pointing at the "spot" for lack of a better word. The JAR has 3 folders like so
- ceb <--package folder
- images
- oracle
- META-INF

I set the MANIFEST.MF to . I also tried adding Class-Path: to the manifest, and changing the classpath through environment variables.

Thanks in advance,

Joe

Does the jar for jdbc contains a file called RdbJdbcLiteralResources.properties?

When you execute from command line the jvm is able to locate this resource bundle. But this file may not be in(or in the right place of) your jar

jiju,

Sorry for the caps but THANK YOU!!! It works now. I have read so much about this exception today and nothing mentioned a missing file. I feel a little embarrassed for not looking to see if the file was contained in the JAR, but I am just glad it works

Thanks again for the help,

Joe

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
