Hi has anyone do this before?

My objective is to retrieve email from my Lotus Notes through a Java Program. Right now I got 2 choices, either to do it with JavaMail API or using the Notes API from IBM.

will really hope to get any relevant information at all because I'm kind of confused which method I should use.

We have used the Notes API with no problems. It's pretty cool cause you can read and write databases as well as mail boxes. Or maybe they're all the same once you're in the API.

so what did you specify in the ip, username and password field? Coz I keep on getting the FileNotFoundException error that my diiop_ior.txt is not found in the ip I specified.

Sorry, don't have that level of detail here. I see code like this:

Session s = NotesFactory.createSession(getHost(), notesId, notesPwd);
Database db = s.getDatabase(s.getServerName(), getDBName());

but I don't know the configured value for the host.

Hi guys,

I found out where the problem came from. I'm trying to access my company mail server and apparently I don't have the permission to do it. Now just have to wait for permission and then it should be ok.... thanks for all the replies!
