Well, since this is my first post, i thought id like to say that as a former VB programer, ive now decided to focus entirely on java. Specifically J2EE.
Ive been scurrying around the past several months learning dotnet, but the interest just wasnt there for me...not sure what killed it.
Over the past 3 years or so, ive become a pretty good "intermediate" java programmer. Ive become self-taught with the language basics, then i moved to jsp, beans and xml. Ive even played with JNI a few times.
However, over the last year or more ive been constantly going back and forth on the idea of where to focus my attention. At least now i can rest easier. I feel like i know enough C# and dotnet stuff to be comfortable with it. One project im planning is to build some samples that use web services via a swing client using dotnet web services and a dotnet client using a java web service.

The amusing thing about Chancellorsville is that this supposed victory wasn't really a victory for Lee. If Hooker hadn't been a coward he would have done what Grant did in 1864 which was to continue the attack. Lee's "genius" in the Civil War was that he was faced with incompetent opponents. On the attack, Lee proved no better than his union counterparts (just take a look at Gettysburg).

Glad to see someone at least conversent of that time period. Ive only just begun to learn about the various battles, but i find that time period fascinating, esp the period leading up to secession.
There are many "what ifs" from that conflict to fill a book or two.
