Hi,

So far i heave created the following code which create a kind of spinning wheel which i will add answering to. The trouble is it looks horrible and im having trouble finding good java applett programming tutorials. What i would like is for the reel to move smoothley round making it look more like a reel on a fruit/slot machine. Has any one here got any tips/links/websites they could offer to help me do this as I feel like ive hit a brick wall. Thanks in advance.

Alan

Is the interval between images too long? if you decrease the sleep interval you might need more images too. Maybe you can edit your images with photoshop or gimp and add some motion blur effects to make it look like its spinning?
I see you have taken care of the double buffering.
Why does it look horrible in your oppinion?

Mainly because im a perfectionist, at the moment the graphics jump 50 pixels per paint rather than smoothly rolling from there starting postion to their ending.. And i cant seem to make this work as it should.

I agree, 50 pixels are quite a jump comparing it to the desired "smoothly rolling". I definitely suggest adding more images to fill in the gap.

why more images? I know that the images need to be moved say 1 pixel at a time downwards, but i have no idea how to do this smoothly .
