Hi there,

My problem is that, if i press a button on some jsp page it will go to
middletier and process the request. suppose it will take 10 minutes
for processing. So mean time i will browse through other jsp pages of
that portal. Now when the proceesing is finished i need to display the
result of that processing in some pop up which is with out user request.

is it possible??

hardly.
HTTP is stateless, so unless you wait for the result the server won't have a clue as to where it should send the data.
In fact, the servlet instance that was handling the request might not even exist anymore or if it does is almost certainly serving some other client.

This is obviously a case for performing the long running function in a separate thread, NOT in the request/response handling Thread. This gets discussed all the time in the servlet and the jsp forums, go browse there.
