Hi all, is there anyway of playing a audio file using a java code. in other words is there possiblility of designing or making a indegeneous music player like winamp or windows media player using a java code. i m asking this question becoz i found an java.sound api at sun java website. Also do the various methods that are given in it to play a clip require other players to play the clip?

Thanks in advance for the answer

java.sound only supports AIFF, AU, WAV and MIDI, so it wouldn't be too useful for building a media player. Have a look at Java Media Framework.
