I am enjoying working on the assignments but I want to get more programming experience. I read something about joining group projects. I want to find out more about this. Other good ways to get programming experience? Thanks.

There are no group projects in the cattle drive forum.

Hello Ryan...
I wish I had a better answer for you. I thought I saw something here at JavaRanch on group projects. I'm at a loss as to how something like that would work with people of different skill levels. Maybe someone can explain how group projects normally work in the workplace.

Hi Ed!
I think I've been involved in what you might call group projects in the work place. Generally there is a senior programmer or lead who handles the architecture and design of the application. This person may even do some initial coding. Once the outline is set, programmers of different (or similar) abilities can handle the implementation of different parts of the app. For me this has been a great opportunity to get down and dirty with the code, while learning about the high level concepts from a mentor.

You’ll find me in my office. I’ll probably be drinking. And reading this tiny ad.
