java nio usefull for...  RSS feed

hi

i need to create a server and a client

on the server, some image and text will be created, the client need to receive this information

are there any advantage to use nio for this program?

Java NIO introduced functionality not available in the java.io library (this article describes many of these new features). The java.io classes were reimplemented using NIO so there is little performance difference between the two. Unless you need some functionality not available in java.io/java.net like nonblocking socket IO, you'll do fine without NIO.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
