Validation using Regex

Hi All,

I want to validate the following information using regex:

1. Credit card number and Expiry

2. Phone number validation

So can anyone share some sample code for the same as i have never used reg-ex.

Half of this should be easy enough, since Credit Cards have a well defined structure to their number (by and large, they follow ISO7812). Telephone numbers are a completely different kettle of fish though. What requirements do you have for a telephone number?


As for regular expressions, as good a place to start as any is in the JavaDocs for the java.util.regex package. Getting a regular expression evaluation tool for your prefered IDE speeds things up no end too. Here is one for Eclipse.
