In a shared hosting situation where you only have one WEB-INF folder for all your Webapps under a given domain, the problem occurs that you could have too many files in your WEB-INF/lib folder which interfere with each other.

Would a good solution be to JAR-up the lib files for each Web app and then mention that Jar by name in the project?

I recently had this issue where due to all the files in the lib folder (not in jars), the web app didn't work correctly due to "some" confict.

Thanks in advance for any replies!!!

Of course, a possible complication to creating a jar file is that most, if not all, of the files in the lib folder are themselves jar files...

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
