Wrox has GOT to stop putting out books with ridiculous covers! It's bad enough when they have a picture of the author holding his chin so as to look contemplative on the cover. But check this out:

Are they going to start a finger puppet series of books now?!? Even if that book contained the secret to lifelong happiness and success, I would NEVER buy that book. They would be far better off with a plain red cover.

C# Data Security? it would have been better if the hands had been in a position of prayer.

Wrox has invented their own "mudras" that are specifically designed to help .Net programmers (God knows they need it).

These covers are so crying out for a few minutes with Photoshop. Is there anyone out there who's better than me at doing the gray/red hands?

That is the funniest thing I have ever seen. They may as well use that cover. It is no dumber than theirs!

Did I misread this post altogether, or is there anything wrong about military intelligence? What is it?

This is from a famous (and tired) quote by Marx (no, a different one): "Military intelligence is a contradiction in terms." (This quote is 98% likely to immediately appear in any conversation in which the word "oxymoron" is mentioned.) This idea is that the military is not intelligent, hence "military intelligence" is a contradiction. Yeah, yeah. (yawn)

Obviously none of you ever had the pleasure of military service or you would see that old Groucho wasnt too far off base. Im an Airforce brat, sister is in the Navy as we speak & I did a stint with the Arny Corp of Engineers...man was he right on track!
