Hi All,

I need a procedure how to write programs in java console.. whether we have to use an ide or we can do it with jdk..??

The only thing you need in addition to the JDK is a way to create the .java files with your source code. You can surely do that from the command line. How exactly you do it depends on the operating system you use.

If you really want to do it all in the command console, for example a DOS box, then do:


But it's more wise and useful to use a texteditor or an IDE (Eclipse is my favourite) to create Java files in it.
 
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
