Hi,
I want to access Windows System process using Java(e.g. I want to build a task manager just like windows using Java). The running process will be shown as listed and the corresponding .dll also be displayed. How can I do that?
Can anyone please provide me some hints regarding this issue?

Thanks

In XP there is a command line utility called tasklist. You can run that via Runtime.exec and parse its output.

But can you actually do stuff to the processes, once you've listed them? Otherwise, you've just got a task lister, not a task manager.

To do something like the Windows Task Manager, you'd almost certainly need plenty of native code, integrated with your Java via JNI.

Really, though, if you want to write something like that, Java isn't exactly the top of the list of natural choices for implementing it.
