Hi all,
Who's your favourite comic book character? I personally favour Batman and the Phantom. Not 100% fantasy.. pretty realistic.. and yet so cool!
Plus the Phantom has a number of amazing tales.
Any one want to join in ...?

In my good old days, Madrake and Phantom used to rule my weekends (and weekdays). Superman was kinda alien to me - I could not establish a connection there, and if I remember correctly, he didn't have a pretty wife too (absolute must for any super hero). There were more, but Phantom was definitely THE Hero. Very realistic as posted earlier.

So can you name all the cool stuff that the Phantom had?
And anyone got any good "old jungle sayings"?
Here are a few...
"Phantom hand moves faster than eye"
"When the Phantom gets angry, his voice can freeze the blood of a killer"
.... just for starters.

Superman has always been my fav.
I REALLY liked the Wonder Twins, however, I don't know if they were ever in a comic or just the Justice League Cartoon. Anyone know??

I'm torn between Captain Marvel (the original one..."Shazam" and all that) and the Phantom, although Mandrake the Magician is definately up on the list.

Phantom and (I dont remember the name of his dog... oh sorry not dog )drinks milk in a city bar.
For indians ... Indrajal Comics now does not come ..
I had a collection of comics with Rs.0.50 till Rs.5.00/- ...
Then some how there publication stoped and so my collection.... still it must in my home somewhere.
And now again its(Phantom, Mandarek) coming in Diamond comics, but I dont like printing of Diamond comics.
AW those lovely days of childhood .... I think every indian of my age must have read ChandaMama
Now kids dont get time from TV and video games..

.. and his pretty wife Diana Palmer, his cave entrance behind a water curtain, mountain with a Phantom face engraved into it, those pigmies, the golden beach of Eaden (?), his dolphins, the dense forests and its tribal folks and their 'Walking Ghost' Phantom!
The movie version of Phantom was pretty lame though.

Kapish(monkey who can increase the length of his tail) was in Bal-Bharthi, not in ChandaMama

Dog was Snowy. His good friend was Captin Haddock and the other dude was Professor something (Calberth?).
Anyway, I liked Tintin but Herge was VERY racist. I think he was German and his thinking was very pro-nazi. In fact, his comics caused so much uproar that they wern't released internationally up until much after his death. Notice how the negros were always depicted in the comics.. very racist. :-( But in the end, he produced some good comics. Sadly they aren't available any more.

I am surprised that you cant see the image because I can see it.
It is "Tinkle" and not twinkle .
