im trying to write a java application that takes an input String and displays the web search results related to that inputstring can any one please tell how to proceed ()

I hope am not too late. But I just did this in google :
"saloon javaranch aidni sucks" and searched. It opened a page which had an url like :

so, if I were you and targetting google. I would take the string, append/concatenate and make it form such an url and throw it onto a browser window.
Let us know how you went on with it
