Hi,

I have a general query to do with a project I am planning and the best way to implement it. I wasn't sure which forum to put this in, but I was wondering if anyone here could suggest an appropriate place to ask or some lines to investigate.

I want users to be able to fill out forms on a website and send the information to a Java program Ive made. This program will then create a series of images based on this information. I then need to put these up on the website and start the process again, with the users filling out forms ect. ect.

My query is this, what would be the best way to get the information from the website forms to the Java program? The process has to happen as quickly as possible and will need to be repeated many times.

Thanks for your help and apologies if this is the wrong place to post this,

A servlet can process the form input and do it efficiently. You will need to run it in a servlet container, the best known being Tomcat.

You can start by looking at the Apache Tomcat home page. Install Tomcat onto your PC and get a "Hello World" type of page up. There are several tutorials available on the internet, try googling for them.

There are also Apache/Tomcat, Servlet and JSP forums on JavaRanch to ask questions if you have problems.
