JAVA_HOME not an identifier in Solaris  RSS feed

Hi,

i have installed jdk1.5. in sun solaries.
and tried to set JAVA_HOME using

$ export JAVA_HOME=/usr/jdk1.5_15

it is giving
: JAVA_HOME=/usr/jdk1.5.0_15: is not an identifier

problem. can you suggest?

try setting this

$ export JAVA_HOME="/usr/jdk1.5_15"

note the double quotes

I also faced the same problem and while searching on net i found following solution... its working...
You're confusing /bin/sh and /bin/ksh syntax:

% sh -c "export DISPLAY=192.168.1.100:0.0"
sh: DISPLAY=192.168.1.100:0.0: is not an identifier
% ksh -c "export DISPLAY=192.168.1.100:0.0"
%


Borne shell needs separate assignment and export statement:

% sh -c "DISPLAY=192.168.1.100:0.0; export DISPLAY"
%

Dude...forget everything....

Are you running your program with sh xyz.ksh then try with ksh xyz.ksh
