Its you. Talking about Windows networking in bars is a good way to "pick up chicks".

I'd advise a panty check before I took any of them home.

What?! And ruin the suprise! There's nothing like a good Crying Game moment for posterity - "Hey granddad, tell us about the time you picked up a dude"

I'm not dumb, but I don't understand
Why she walk like a woman and talk like a man
Just leave Lola at the bar.

you know, because of that song, i think the word lola has a different meaning to americans than its original meaning. correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought lola refered to eligable woman thats not underage...you know a hot seniorita that is't jailbait?

I think you're referring to the diminutive lolita which is a young precociously mature ineligable girl. I'm pretty sure The Kinks were referring to a drag queen. I really like that song. The Kinks were one of those underapprecited Brittish invasion bands. I still listen to them now and then. But I can't make it thru a day without some Pink Floyd, especially Comfortably Numb.

Don't listen to too much Floyd but Echos is one of my favourite songs ever.
...the Live at Pompeii version that is...

When I lived in Cambridge my mate had a job with the post office. He (eventually) found Syd Barrett's house and delivered him some post. He was such a fan. Syd is nuts though apparently.

Definitely Spanish and probably Italian as well. I guess I been in Texas too long, but I've never known a generic reference to Lola, other than the one created by The Kinks.

geting kind of back to the original title, if not subject, is it just me? or are you reluctant to work after you have become slightly inebriated? i am...im afraid i will forget or neglect something. so i only like working on code in the first 12 hours of the day, actually the earlier the better..i think best in the mornings.

Same here. I don't want to think about work when I drink. Just want to relax and enjoy the buzz. When I'm coding, I want to totally concentrate on that, and when your as old as I am concentration gets tougher as the day wears on. Back about ten years ago we used to work a lot of long hours and at around 6:00 PM we'd break out the longnecks and drink a couple while we finished up for the evening. I can't do that anymore. Hell I can't work much more than 8 hours a day now. Ah to be young again.

Drinks at lunchtime were guaranteed to kill the afternoons productivity, and the sessions of the night before killed all morning productivity. Hang-on, how did I get any work done?!
