problem in XML Parsing using XPathAPI  RSS feed

hi,
I can not parse an XML document using XPathAPI.
I have seen that there is problem in the attribute in the root element.
My document is


if I changed it to

That is if I change the attribute with same local part .
What is the meaning of The root node does not have an expanded-name.

Similarly
Two expanded-names are equal if they have the same local part, and either both have a null namespace URI or both have non-null namespace URIs that are equal


Again same XML file can be parsed using typical old APIs. I wan to using XPathAPI or XPath ( jdk 1.5)
Please help.
