I found the decimal representation (124) and the hexadecimal representation (7C), but how do you type in the OR operators on the keyboard (those vertical lines) ??

On my Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard the vertical line is above the enter key. You have to use the shift key and hit that key to get the vertical line.
Hopefully this is what you meant or I feel really stupid.

On my keyboard it's above the tab key, as it seems to be on all UK keyboards.
Some keyboards label it as two short verical bars, one above the other, or two long vertical bars beside each other.
What sort of keyboard do you have?

Assuming you're looking for this | On my keyboard (also UK) you have to press SHIFT and \ for a bitwise inclusive OR. For a conditional OR operator I'd have to do this twice | | . It actually looks like a broken vertical line on the keyboard.
Hope this helps ?

Blimey, Angela! It is there. And when I type, I use that key for it. That'll teach me to look at the keyboard instead of touch typing. Sorry Steven and Frank.

I did wonder what on earth you were going on about ... I thought your keyboard was some kind of strange mutant which had it's keys all mixed up

WORLD'S FUNNIEST COMPUTER BLOOPERS !
Yeah it's there above the enter key - a broken up vertical line. I had to do about three laps on the keyboard and some reading before I asked - hoped it was just lack of sleep.
Thanks guys!
