I need to stop my program at some pre-set interval (with a counter), but I don't know how to implement it. Does anyone know how to tewmporarily halt a program and then resume it upon a command?

Issue a System.in.read command. Then the program will wait for input before proceeding.

Hi, sorry for not making the question clear...I need to make the program resume with an ActionListener, so is there any way to implement it without having to resume it at the command line?
