OK! Here is my ideal matchup for 2004
Republican:
President - George Bush
Vice President - Colin Powell (I wish this comes true)
Democrat:
President - Joe Liebermann
Vice President - Howard Dean (I like this guy)
Republican Strongholds:
1. The war on terror has been mostly successful
2. The war on terror requires that a republican stay in control
3. GWB has proved his leadership capabilities in the time of the greatest crisis in American history
Republican Weak links:
1. Growing unpopularity of AG John Ashcroft(this guy is really obscene to me, someone drape him )
2. Too many top people quit during the first term, Ari Fleischer etc. quite a few but cant recollect names immed.
3. Gross Human right violations (but this will probably be swept under the carpet with the label of war on terror)
Democratic Strongholds:
1. Right now people have the perception that the Republican party is all talk and no walk as far as the economy is concerned. Add to this the tax cut which has been heavily criticized on all fronts. Basically, public perception of the Republican economics is down the sink. Compare to this the 8 years of unfettered success under Clinton era (OK! OK! all you republicans, I'll admit it. Clinton was the luckiet son of a b!%$!)
2. If by 2004 the US is unable to find any WMD in Iraq.. the Republican party can sit in the dumper for the next 4 years! Guaranteed!
Democratic Weak Links:
1. Opinion polls indicate that the American population doesnt have confidence in any of the nominated Democrats to lead the war on terror.
2. Nutcases still roam around the party halls (eg. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson etc.)
3. The Democratic party really has nothing else to its credit other than the economy. Its heavily banking on this one factor and if this doesnt kick in, god save the Democratic party. (We may very well be in for 12 years of Republican rule like during the Reagan-Bush era)
Who would you like to see running in the polls and whom would you vote for?

Loser!!
I've spent the last three days on a tropical island, just me and the girlfriend. Beaches, waterfalls, mandarin farms, forests, lobster and steak ... Great!!
... so, back to reality. What's politics again?

I knew there's something I like about you.. I think its that British humour. I have always been a great fan of British slapstick like Yes Prime Minister, Mind Your Language, All In the Game etc.
I wish they showed some British slapstick here in the US. Looks like the only British comedian around here is Monty Python.
