whether (Thread implements Runnable) is defined in anywhere.
if defined then what is the significance???

The java API states that the class Thread implements the interface Runnable. This means that in order to create a new Runnable object you can implement the Runnable interface, create an instance of Runnable, or extend Thread (or any other class that implements Runnable).
