There are free tools that let you create your own poll! I just made one.
This way all our main discussion can be accompanied by voting, unless Paul will object misusing his server.

I was told by a Korean evangelist last week that I was going to hell because I didn't believe in Jesus. He was pointing animatedly with both hands towards the pavement at the same time. He seemed really concerned about me. I wish I'd had my camera.

According to the latest count, 63% are on the side of righteousness, and 32% are in league with the dark forces.

Yeah, but how many of these are really on the side of righteousness, i.e. the believers in Allah, Our Lord and Saviour?

Please, do not confuse us, honest agnostics, who deliberately chose this position and not going to leave it any time soon, with those who have not made their mind yet!
Unless 5 means that you are undecided if you are undecided or not...
Absolutely true.
It goes like this:
Believer: God exists.
Atheist: Nope, God doesn't exist.
Agnostic: You both are so stupid.
Undecided: ...

Wow 40 votes, with only 10 unique posters in this thread: I guess it also indicates the numbers of lurkers to posters in MD.
I am also bemused by the lurkers in SCJD - quite often there is a post by someone saying they "passed thanks to all the people in the forum", and it is their first post.
People believing in God is out in front, but not too far. We can catch up

Yeah, it looks like the average Java programmer (or the average MD lurker) is less religious than the average person. I think it has to do with the analytical type of mind that is required for programming. And I don't think it will be totally off base to say that the more religious you are, the less likely it is that you are a good programmer. There are many exceptions, of course, -- I am sure that many distinguished physicists and mathematicians are religious. I am willing to bet, however, that the average scientist is less religious than the average person.

Actual ratio must be even more, I do not think all lurkers voted . I know another forum, where they display how many times a thread was read, and ratio of "reads/posts" is about 200.

Hmmm, the forces of darkness are at 18 out of 43 now. I suppose we could count the two undecideds on our side, but they have that annoying option of defecting at the last minute. Can't be counted on.
All right, fellow Legions of the Damned. I know there's more of you out there! Speak up! We may be behind now, but we can still get 'em. GO TEAM!

Notice that the forces of darkness must entice people to join their cause. How typical.

How can you be part of a legion of darkness/evil if you don't believe in God? I didn't think you could have one without the other, unless you think that darkness is God, but then you would actually believe in God and therefore your answer is forfeit. Hypocrits.
And for those confused about the "Undecided" vote, it just means we haven't decided to reveal ourselves as the true rulers of the universe and subjugate all you lower life forms. It's called Delusions of Grandeur, you should try it sometime.

Just to be picky: It's Tautology: "I do not think that..." is true by definition, since Eugene would have had to think the thought before writing it down. Of course, if he'll still feel that way after the wrath of God descends on him is another matter altogether.

No.. they go to temple to watch beautiful girls
AW they dont go to temple to pray or listen what Pandit is saying.
They just go there for no reason..
they dont beleve in excahnge with God [You give me this, I will gove/do this for You..]
They dont know any prayer.
They just go and sit there.
They go for tourism purpose also.
As you are from Pune so I will tell you. I was in Pune for 2 yrs and my favourite temple was Chaturshrungi temple because it was nearest and we could sit there for hours on the high hill top till late night.
Everyone who goes to temple does not go to ask something from God.
And down south I like design of temples [new], you can just go there and sit for hours.

No, atheists do not actually believe they are part of the Forces of Darkness. That's pretty much impossible from an atheistic view. Of course, believers may well disagree on this point...
