"PANDORA",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.

The SCJP was for the jdk1.1.x releases, and the SCJP2 is for the jdk1.2 release of Java. You want the SCJP2 I am quite sure.
The way to pass the SCJP2 certification test is to study. A LOT. Get a couple of books on Java and Java Certification.
Take some mock exams. Read lots of threads on the topics.

There have been two ( or possibly more ) revisions of the "Sun Certified Java Programmer" test. The older one covered Java up to ~1.1.8 while the newer covers Java versions 1.2 and up. The older version of this test is no longer offered, but a programmer who has passed it is still considered a SCJP. ( Certification does not expire when a new version comes out. )Usually, most people refer to either certification generically as "SCJP", while "SCJP2" specifically applies to the newer certification.

P.S. - Please refer to the JavaRanch naming policy. You are required to register with a user name that consists of two words seperated by a space, preferably your real name ( obviously fake names are also not allowed ). So, even though "PANDORA" is a really cool name, if we allow it, it will open the box on no end of troubles. However, if Pandora is your real name, you are obviously cooler than me. Just slap your last name on there and you'll be ready. Thanks!
