I am eager to learn J2EE and would appreciate advice on what development environments I could use on Win 98. Javasoft's J2EE downloads seem to demand NT/2000. (This post seems to be ignored on the J2EE board. Maybe someone can help me here. Thanks.)
Boy, aren't people helpful here! I did find that the J2EE1.2.1 API works on 98 and that Orion http://www.orionserver.com is okay, though it seems buggy. Keep those suggestions coming... :-(
Golly, did you take that second post personally? You do an awesome job with this forum...your posts are always to the point and immediately helpful. I guess sarcasm is unnacceptable so I will refrain in the future! Best, Bryan
AHA!! From Sun: Q: Is J2EE supported on Windows 95/98/ME? Sun: We do not officially support Windows 95/98/ME. You will not be able to run be able to run J2EE 1.3 on Windows 95/98/ME without some tweaking in the batch files. There is a workaround for running J2EE 1.3 Beta 2 on Windows 95/98/ME. Please refer to http://forums.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=13&thread=21673 for more information.
