How can I get rid of the pop-out dos window?

Hi,
I wrote a program with GUI. THe problem is whenenver I start the program, another DOS window will jump out. I saw this in some comercial software, too.
Does anyone know how I can run my single Graphic program without that DOS window?
Thanks
Chris

If you use javaw instead of java to start the application, the window can be mimimized, or closed by the user. It used to not have any window at all, but then there were problems with not having any place to write out error messages if there was a problem, so . . . the best that you can do is make the window as unobstrusive a possible.

Hi Cindy,
I wrote this program to let others to use, who may not know much about java at all. So I do not want to confuse them by the console window. That javaw is pretty cool, but there is still one console window there. Can I really get rid of it? Even if I have to use some C/C++ codes to encapsulate my java execution?
Thanks a lot
Chris

I would expect that if you are willing to use some JNI you COULD do it. I just have never seen it done. We just make our application big enough to cover the darn thing up .
