The last acceptable prejudice - Catholic bashing.
(Americans are better at it than most).
When did kittens become involved in this message ?
We should ask whether this post would be allowed if it caused outrage or offense to any other group, whether or not that degree of offense seems reasonable or understandable to outsiders. If the answer is yes, then society will indeed tolerate controversial or offensive presentations of other groupsof Muslims and Jews, African-Americans and Latinos, Asian-Americans/Britains and Native Americans, gays and lesbians
Are Catholics singled out for unfair treatment?
If, however, controversy is out of bounds for these other groupsas it assuredly isthen perhaps this post should be allowed.
I meant shouldn't be allowed!

The message is definitely against bashing of any kind. Just something to consider the next time you're rescuing the white genie.

Sorry, you have lost me.
What's "the white genie" ?
The closest I can come to it on google is some kind of household cleaning product!
Anyway , I was just trying to make sense of an apparently senseless message. And I pointed out the first one that came to mind, in a way I hope came across jokingly.
What I could take issue over is the association with kittens!

I'm offended because of the use of kittens. We are members of PETA, and I think this poster is an example of the unethical treatment of animals. Even though the kitten itself isn't being hurt in taking the picutre, the correlation it draws in its message is offensive.
Now I will have a picture of a kitten in my mind when I masturbate, instead of the blond I saw in this month's Playboy magazine.

Just a euphemism for masturbating - like "choking the chicken" and all those others

Oh why not post the entire century worth of PlayBoys and we'll let you all get on with it!
Just leave kittens out of it, please!

As far as Catholic bashing , I can't say I am terribly impressed with the Church (Catholic, Anglican, you name it...) for protecting sex offenders within their ranks. I had a swell time at Sunday school growing up but now I'd think twice about taking my nieces and nephews to church.
Church is just for Christmas.
There - that's a meaningful message.

Another euphemism is "spanking the monkey" I think.
Now , monkey I find less offensive.

How about "I'm just going upstairs to bash the milk-monkey with my skin-kitten"?

That's OK, if the skin-kitten is thrilled about it...
Is skin-kitten a euphemism for skinnygirl as opposed to heavygirl ?
How about "I'm just going upstairs to bash the milk-monkey with my heavy-dovey"?
Can't keep references to animals out. It must be a rhyming thing. Or a base instinct.

Note: AFAIK the Catholic church doesn't condone the snuffing of kittens, especially those cute little tabbies with the goofy eyes. Ahhhhhhh!

I just wanted to say sorry to three kitties that died in the last two hours. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

1.5 kph (kittens per hour). Pretty good going I probably stroked up a sackful of kitten mega-death over the weekend...the horror!

Better than 1000 kittens, HS. Or worse I suppose. It depends.
This is what you get for spending time in this worthless place!

This is true. Any priest caught abusing kitty-cats of any kind faces the harshest punishment.
A shame they didn't think of extending the rule to altar-boys.....

Everyday thousands of kittens get killed by masturbating drivers. The poster implicitly asks drivers to be more cautious. I dont understand what Catholic Church has to do with it?

Oh, I see! It's not just kittens that are at risk but the whole pedestrian population now.
[ BTW. thanks Alfred for pointing that out to Anonymous that the person needs some serious professional help.]
Regarding Catholicism I can identify with the following writer, Lillie Wade , a 19-year-old freshman at the College of Santa Fe.
It seems that a large part of that world has crumbled away.

Although I am non-practicing, I am a cultural Catholic. My senses were formed on the glow of stained glass and the scent of incense. As an adolescent, I rebelled against the Catholic hell and proclaimed that no loving God would eternally damn his beloveds. But at about 16, I realized that I had been shortsighted. Whether or not Jesus is God, Catholicism tells much more truth about life than the generic pop culture that was my only other source of enlightenment. After a rigorous Catholic elementary education, I was shocked at how the brightest students in my public high school were ignorant of the most fundamental grammatical rules. Thus, I gained great respect for Catholicism's strong educational traditions.

School Days -- Entries from student life - The sacred profaned in Santa Fe
The message( Catholics were probably the first to put out the message) that started this thread used to be part of the Catholic teaching but put in a more subtle way by using visual imagery. Cause for a lot of outbursts of laughter by the time one grew old enough to understand what they meant. Now, my afore-mentioned nieces and nephews get told the facts at too early an age.
Catholicism (or Christianity in general) has now morphed into something I just do not understand anymore. And while I am sad at the personal loss it was just too difficult to keep up (the altar boy stories had something to do with it also). I am sure educational institutions are poorer for the loss of this alternative. My afore-mentioned nieces and nephews certainly are ; they have very little to rely on to decide what is good or bad. Parents have only time to do so much. And most schools have turned away from that responsibility.
A sackful of kittens, hey! And 1.5 kph! All that wasted energy.
Try a good book and hot cocoa. Or work at a meaningful relationship!
Or several.
