I would ask him to close the "JRanch top 10 topics" and "WA #1 word association" threads.

Well, my first thought was for a billion dollars. I know this sounds both shallow and greedy, but it's really not. I'd want the billion so I can spend more time thinking about the things that matter (family and research) and not have to worry about things that shouldn't (politics, job pressures, the new roof I need put on my house.) I probably wouldn't even buy a new car.
My second thought also sounds really trite, in a Miss Universe kind of way. I'd ask for an end to all the root causes of war, worldwide: poverty, famine, pestilence, evangelism, ignorance.
Now I'm depressed, because there are no angels on the way.

I have thought this but if this happens ... things might become "boring" and you will not know how it feels to be happy. A "Perfect" world will be the last of in my list.
If you ever get a chance to make a wish, I will advice/request you to ask for the first one.

An angel came by and granted you a wish. The wish was to give you the power to make the world a better place. You have that power. Now go use it!

Actually, my wish is for a world where everyone's dream would come true. Where everyone is the smartest, the richest, the most beautiful, the happiest, etc.. Obviously, they couldn't really live with each other since they're wishes might sometimes conflict with other peoples wish... they would have to live isolated - kinda like a personal cocoon - state.
Everone would have to live in an isolated reality. Obviously, the best way to do this is to have some kind of mechanism, structure to facilitate their dream like state....... like a virtual world if you will.. Such a world for each person would be a Utopia; his or her being would be a God, (if he or she wishes) in his or her world -- the one.
Obviously, if the history of mankind is used as a record of how things are to be. Humans would not ultimately would accept this blissfull reality - too perfect, too flawless... Oooooh wellll, never mind ;-)

Cubs and Red Sox meet in the World Series. That way one of the groups of fans can stop crying.

From the movie Bruce Almighty.
