I'm trying to view the contents of a jar file. I used jar -tvf filename.jar and it only shows that the manifest file is in there. Oddly, it works for some jar files but not for others. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know why the "tvf" switch isn't working for you. Have you tried the switches without the preceeding hyphen?
If you're still having problems, you can view .jar files using WinZip on win32. If you're using Linux, then you may (???) be able to use the unzip utility.

Thanks!! I didn't know I could use WinZip to view jar files. I figured it out. The file somehow became corrupt or unreadable during the ftp process. I just changed it from ASCII to BINARY and it worked.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
