Meteorite wrecks houses in India (and more!)

From this BBC article:
At least 20 people are reported to have been injured after a meteorite crashed to Earth in eastern India.
Reports say hundreds of people in the state of Orissa panicked when the fireball streamed across the sky. Burning fragments were said to have fallen over a wide area, destroying several houses. An official in Orissa said the authorities were assessing the damage and trying to recover what was left of the meteor. Reports from Orissa said windows rattled as the meteor passed overhead.
"It was all there for just a few seconds but it was like daylight everywhere," one resident said.

Actually those Pakis dropped the meteorite on India - now India will retaliate and bomb some villages along the Line of Control

I know I am sailing treacherous waters here by bringing up both ‘India’ and ‘Pakistan’ in the same thread, and according to the Meaningless Drivel guidelines, political rivalries etc should not be brought in here anymore! So, let me request posters to keep this in mind, and post civilized opinions supported by facts and figures instead of just ranting.
Now, my point is, why are we Indians so obsessed about proving ourselves better than Pakistan? In the above instance of a meteorite, and related funny comments from Slashdot readers, our attention seems to have been totally on Pakistans reaction, which is just like how Indians are overjoyed if they beat Pakistan in cricket, than if they win against one of the best teams in the world, say Australia!! Us Indians always tend to measure ourselves against Pakistan, and IMO, it is like USA comparing themselves against Mexico!! And all the benefit of the entire 'anti-Pakistan-sentiment' in India, goes to Pakistan! (read about the last weeks incidents in UN to get an idea of this)
IMHO, its about time for us Indians to give up our obsession of measuring up against a country which in deep religious and political crisis and to set their eyes on comparing themselves against the industrial growth standards set by China, or the overall growth and development strategies followed by developed countries like that of USA, Japan, Germany or UK.

No, about Indians in general! Apparently, its more so with Indians around me (outside India) than Indians in India (because Indians in India has many other interesting issues to deal with, than ranting about Pakistan. )

PS: Someone PM'ed me and asked me why did I mention Pakistan in my first post and now complaining about the same! Good question. As a matter of fact, the first post is not my views/comments - I merely copied them from Slashdot. But hey, I suppose I shouldn’t have! Anyway, what really made me post (the second one, about silly us) is mostly because of what I observed around me in real life, that here in javaranch. I have had tried to politely protest when I see Indians around me does this over and over again, and I was sort of tired with that! No offence meant to anyone here!
