Racist and sexist words are discriminatory. Most people agree and abide with that (in public and in private I hope).

There was a recent ruling (in a court,I think, in the U.S.) that the word "hate" is discriminatory. Actually , it was the context in which it was used in a pamphlet. I can't lay my hands on the story right now.
Oh! And it is also discriminatory to use the word against men who don't clean.
On the basis of 20 years neurobiological research and his own experience as a family therapist, Michael Gurian asserts that men secrete less of the "bonding" chemical oxytocin than women do and more of the "calming" chemical serotonin. As a result they not only tend to disregard household mess and dust, they also steer clear of emotional "heart-to-heart" chats prefering to slump in front of the TV with the remote control. If Gurian is right said the Guardian , couch potatoes "can rest in peace. It is what nature intended them to be".

"Nazi" was added around 1946 in case you didn't notice (or at least in most of Europe it was).
"Liberal" in the Germanic sense (which is about diametrically opposed to the AngloSaxon meaning) is not seen as politically correct by many people (because it's not leftist) and some openly call anyone who adheres to the principles fascist.
Being good little socialists being leftist (thus liberal in the AngloSaxon meaning) is perfectly acceptable in most of the world (90% of the media are leftist and they define what is acceptable after all).

And here's the missing snippet which interestingly was posted under a column called PC Watch.
"Officials at Gonzaga University in Washington State banned an author from distributing fliers for a speech about his book,
Why The Left Hates America. The word "hate" said the university was "discriminatory". The student group that organised the talk was officially reprimanded for holding an event at which the spaeker admitted to "hating"."

This is worse than 1984, even in Orwell's worst nightmare the thought police in that book didn't go so far as to make words illegal did they (its been a long time since I read it)?
So we are forbidden to say we strongly dislike something ("hate"), but isn't it also discriminatory to say we don't like something or that we prefer one thing over another? This is the final result of PCness, one cannot express any preference or desire without some fear...

I hate the official at Gonzaga University.

Speaking about discriminatory words, here is an interesting essay by Geoff Nunberg "A Fascist in Every Garage".

Orwell wrote about "New Speak" in 1984 ("double-plus good" and all that), designed to remove emotion from the language. I suppose that could be considered as one form of PC taken to its ultimate extreme, though in that case it was designed specifically to hinder political discourse rather than protect minorities.

Peanut butter sandwiches.
Teachers at an elemntary school in Califiornia have been told to search pupils' lunch boxes each morning for illicit peanut butter sandwiches. All food containing nuts has been banned because one child suffers from a nut allergy.

At first I thought you had written "nut injury".
That reminded me of a case where a school district had to pay a large award to the family of a child. A dog had gotten onto the school grounds and began playing with the boy. The dog accidentally stepped on the boy's testicle, causing sufficient damage to the testicle that it died and had to be removed.

These aren't words but phrases with an associated meaning that some think it is time to debunk.
Humpty Dumpty has been written with a happy ending.
In case childen find his original fate too upsetting.
"All the King's horses and all the King's men
couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again" has been re-written to
"Humpty Dumpty counted to ten
Then Humpty Dumpty got up again"

A British official working for the EU has demanded that
"Waterloo Station" and "Trafalgar Square" be renamed on the grounds
that "they risk offending a European youth that we should be trying to unite".
Francis Carpenter the chief of the European Investment Fund suggest that they be called Europe Station and Concord Square instead.
"Waterloo" by Abba is going underground. Abba revivals have been playing in a lot of fringe theatres, recently.
Waterloo Lyrics
===============
My my, at Napoleon did surrender
Oh yeah, and I have met my destiny in quite a similar way
The history book on the shelf
Is always repeating itself
Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my
My my, I tried to hold you back but you were stronger
Oh yeah, and now it seems my only hope is giving up the fight
And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose
Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my
And how could I ever refuse
I feel like I win when I lose
Waterloo - I was defeated, you won the war
Waterloo - Promise to love you for ever more
Waterloo - Couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo - Knowing my fate is to be with you
Waterloo - Finally facing my

This is the gospel truth:
In the UK recently a JobCentre (where unemployed people go to look at job adverts) asked a business to alter the wording of their ad because it said:
"wanted, hard working people"
and they felt this was 'discriminatory' against those who didn't want to work hard.
Anyway, the national papers ran the story and some politican stepped in and kicked their stupid asses.

"Wanted immediately - work-shy fop"
Actually they should've dropped "wanted, hard working people" anyway because its one of those stupid, unnecessary phrases littering most job ads!

I think most people would agree that PC has gone much too far in western culture. Which really makes me wonder why all these new words and phrases constantly become considered incorrect. Any actual legitimate case should be considered on its own merits, but not be able to result in a word becoming illegal. I can't believe a University cancelled a talk simply because of the title. We had one here last year called, I have a Seven Foot Penis. Shouldn't it have been cancelled as it embarrassed so horribly the rest of the population of the world who are less endowed?
