Howdy and thank-you all so much for the energy and enthusiasm this week! I think it is wonderful that Java is a language that inspires people to be so excited. I will never get tired of this -- learning more about it myself, or helping others learn it.
Anyway, I want to add to what Bert said -- PLEASE if there are any lurkers out there who do not want to appear to ask "a dumb question" -- there is NOTHING that is too small or basic or simple to ask here on this beginner forum.
If you think of this form as a "Newbies" forum, maybe that will help encourage you to ask more questions. This forum is for beginners, but that includes "just getting started, where do I begin?" people as well. Remember, this site is "A friendly place for Java greenhorns", and in cowboy-speak, "greenhorn" means "new / young". OK, you don't have to be young
So Bert and I will keep checking in to this forum, as long as people keep asking the most basic, fundamental, questions

Those are the ones we love most. Neither of us have forgotten what it is like to be just starting up the learning curve. And since we love to learn new things ourselves, we're always a brand new beginner struggling with *something*. Right now, Bert's trying to teach me to play 'go' and I am a COMPLETE idiot about it
cheers and good luck to all,
don't forget to have FUN with it!
