In the book, what process is followed in generating the UML and converting it to actual code?

I used Rational Rose to create my UML diagrams, but there was no automated process for generating the resultant code -- I illustrate how various UML constructs should be implemented in terms of Java syntax; for example, the notion that a one-to-many association between classes is handled through the use of a Collection as an attribute in the class participating in the "one" end of the association.
Regards,
Jacquie
