What are you doing to compile things (when it works)?
What are you doing to run things (when it doesn't work)?
This may well be a simple CLASSPATH issue, and you may want to take a gander at our wiki page on HowToSetTheClasspath.
Nick George wrote:I downloaded and installed j3d... enough times... and yet... it shows no sign of working. import javax.media.j3d is sucessful, but when ever i try to use classes from the package, i'm told they don't exist. No source code i've found anywhere works, and whenever i try to run an example applet on a website, i am greeted by a gray screen with a cup of coffee at the top. if they really feel like messsing with me, they'll eventually turn the coffee cup into a red x, to show me that they're still there.
I had the same problem with the J3D did you download it from http:\\www.java.net??? if you did what you will have to do is go to the java file in your system under programfiles\java then go to your jdk version then go to jre then bin then put these files into the folder j3d.dll then go back to jre file then go to lib put all the jar files of J3d core codec and vecmath then what you will need to do is go to your system Environment variables then creat one and name it Path then go back to the java folder ( a little confusing) but go the folder name jdk - version then click on bin then right click on any of the files it will be a path to the files it will be like this C:\\users\yourname\programfiles\java\jdk -version\bin copy that and put it into the environment varible path you created should solve your problem.... If you use Eclipse i'm not sure how to fix it but it always told me textureloader.class does not exist not sure why i deleted the program and just download Notepad++..
