okay guys thank GOD for a site like this i hope i can get the help i desire so much here, i am reading thinking in java and i am trying to run the source code for the book.simply put i downloaded the book on the net and unzipped it into an appropriate folder on my linux system.but really after that i found it difficult to put the book in the appropriate path so i can use javac to compile it.so i think i need help on how to define the appropriate paths so that i am able to run the source code for the book.i have java1.4.1 installed on my linux system .anyone who can help with astep by step guide on how to define the appropriate paths for source code to be compiled.thanks men if by anychance this question is just too simple i hope u guys understand that i am a beginner.

Welcome to the ranch. To ensure your JDK is installed correctly go through the following walkthrough. This should help claify things a bit. Once you have the HelloWorld program up and running, keep coming back with your questions.

truly this is a ranch in less than twenty four houirs i have found an answer to a problem that has been intractable for two weeks ,now i have but one option go out there and bring in all the horses, sheeps, wolves, and camels into the ranch thank guys .hurray java ranch!!!
