Alfred Neumann aka Al Newman aka Alfred Neese wants to give his best wishes to all. Respectful best wishes to the moderator(s). I'll be back probably sometime this week when the spirit moves me, though I don't expect to be as active. The new ID won't be 'Alfred' anything. You'll just have to guess......
One last question though. How did all the 'Alfred Neumann' posts get changed to 'Al Newman'? Just noticed that this morning. It's a mystery.....

UBB does it. When you change your display name, it changes everything you ever posted under that login. It also changes everything you ever posted to your new "title", so my first post on this board shows that I was a sheriff at that time (which of course I wasn't).

Thanks Marilyn. Except that I don't remember changing my posting name for Alfred. Didn't have access in fact, as the account was already nuked.

Actually, if you change your display name, your member number will be the same. We better memorize it.

It's a pity Alfred has to change his name as I quite enjoyed his disscussions on his work environment, which he may not have been able to make with his real name.

"Alfed" can still post under a not so obviously fictitious name.
Shame about the member id. It would have been fun playing the guessing game - is he or isn't he..
Who is Alfred ? has this reply
"Alfred is a large eared, red headed freckled child. I get the feeling he may be related to our "great leader".
Obviously meaning Tony Blair. Reading the magazine with this view may elicit an extra chuckle or two.
Sky One are due to show on 9th Jan a new episode of Simpsons entitled The Regina Monologues. Tony Blair appear as a British Tour Guide and the Simpsons visit London.
"Why would you want to greet us low-lifes off the flight?" demands Bart.
"I want to encourage the World to come and see the beauty of 21st century Britain," replies Blair. Homer then offers Blair a dollar to leave them alone. He declines, but pockets the money anyway."I can't believe we met Mr Bean," says Homer.
In fact there was another English carricature in The Simpsons. Some psychiatrist. I haven't figured out who they based it on.Richard Branson keeps popping to mind but the Americans actually like Branson better than we do. Apparently.

Bye Alfred.
I too - sometimes think about coming out of the closet.
I have been posting here for almost 3 years. I am sort of used to my "alias" and I guess it suits me.
It is a form of "protective colorization".
