Java Embbeded Systems??

just for my knowledege,are there any embedded systems based on java???
i know that embedded is mostly done with Assembly and C.
what about java? any idea???

There's a whole thread here on J2ME, the Micro Edition, which is used for embedded systems. C and Assembly will always rule for small embedded systems because you can run them on as little as 256 bytes (yes, bytes) of program memory, whereas Java requires something like 256K bytes. So, Java's making some inroads in larger embedded systems, but C and assembly still rule for the most part, with C++, Ada and a few other languages tossed in for good measure.

im new to java...but not new to programming...
and its good to know that im learning a good language....
