ok i dont know anything about java, literally.i think i have a problem with my computer that involves java.
when i am on the internet, i go to a site and i see a picture that i have to click on to make bigger but when i do, i get a blank white page instead of the picture.
in the top left hand corner of the blank white page is a small 'X' and when i move the cursor over it the word javascript appears in the bottom left hand corner.
did i remove a program wrongfully from my computer that makes the javascript thing work???
im completely lost and dont know what to do, thats why i came here.

Hi, Dave -

Welcome to JavaRanch.

Please note that Java has nothing to do with JavaScript except part of the name and some of the syntax. Otherwise, they are completely different languages. We do have a forum here for "other languages", where some of the members could probably help more.

I would check the security settings of your browser to make sure running scripts is enabled. It's also possible that there's either an error in the script or a bug in your browser. You'd have to post your operating system, browser and version, plus the url of the image you're referring to, for anyone to really be able to offer detailed help.

Good luck!
