Hi all,

I have just signed up with a company called 3M in their IT department. They have put me in the deep end by asking me to write a browser for their digital camera photos. I have VERY little knowledge of java and have absolutely no idea where to start. Would anyone know anywhere I can find maybe an exmple of a digital photo browser or any information I can read up on to find out how to start coding such a tool. Hope someone can help. Thanks

Hi Depesh,

To start off, you should have a look at the Swing's tutorial here : http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/index.html

You can see a detailled sample of a pictures' browser here : http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/misc/icon.html#example

Best regards,

I wonder how you ended up in a job you have no competence whatsoever for.
"Creative" resume and cramming some Java terms before the interview?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
