"....I have heard that the new IBM Java compilers have good error reporting..."

I read that line above in www.jchq.net and I got curious about the different types of java compiler. The one I'm using goes with the j2sdk kit I downloaded from the sun's website. Can somebody tell me where I can read more details about the different kinds of java compilers?

The other popular one, Jikes, is made by IBM. And then, of course, there is the Microsoft one which is quite a bit different from the other two.

Do you mean "hacked into" or "built"?

Shibby,

I'm not sure why you changed your display name, but if you will please read the Javaranch naming policy and change it to something acceptable, we would appreciate it.
