Hi folks,

I have compiled the very simple class called HelloWorld, but when I try to call the class with:

I get the following: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/headfirstjava/HelloWorld

the first line of the source is package com.headfirstjava; and as I say the class compiles and can be seen sitting in the following directory:

c:\Java\HeadFirst\classes\com\headfirstjava

with the name HelloWorld.class

Any ideas? I have tried rubbing my eyes and checking for typing errors in the names, but I assure you, everything is as I describe.

I would be very grateful for any help, because currently I am stuck!

regards and thanks
Simon

Hi Jeroen,

Sorry for the delay getting back.

My operating System is Windows NT.

My classpath contains reference to some Jar files (for other applications) MQSeries and an entry to the bin, that is C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\bin

regards
Simon
