How do I concatenate a double quote (") into a string, if I actually want the double quote to appear on the output.

Just use \ which is the escape character.
System.out.println( "\"my string\"" );

u can use escape characters use " \" " to print or assign a double quote to a string
 
Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
