Wow! Talk about beginner...

I have been told to do some work with the GUI Folder of the demonstration programs that were included with the Java SDK kit that I installed on my computer. Here's my problem - I don't think I got that set of demonstration programs and I can't find a GUI folder in any of the stuff that was installed. If anyone has any idea of what I am talking about, please fill me in.
Thanks!

You can find the demo apps under /demo folder of your J2SDK installation folder.

I have looked in the demo file but all the demos in that file are applets or applications that do not have any GUI aspects that I can see.

And on top of all that - of the demos in the folder, most of them say Applet not found when I try to run them or look at the example.

You meant something like in /Demo/jfc? Open the *.jar with javaw.exe

I got close enough to figuring it out - I found a DrawTest and I am going to try to add a feature to allow the user to change the background color. I'm off to do that now - if you have any input or suggestions for a very NEWbie, I would appreciate them. And thank you so much for the push in the right direction that you already gave!
