Accessing java objects in different application

Hi,

I was wondering whether it was possible to access a java object running in a different application. I need a singleton object to store values from a look-up table and be accessable from several different apps.

I've no idea what area of java this is or where to read up on such a thing.

You can do this in Java using RMI or another networking technique. Have a look at this RMI tutorial to give you an idea what's involved.
