Take a peek into theAPI JavaDoc. In the top-left corner is a list of packages. You can see how Sun organized things.

Bookmark that documenation! (or the version that matches the JDK you use) It's a fantastic resource, and it's worth spending some time just snooping around for interesting looking things.

Also spend some time learning about access modifiers (public, private, protected, default).
