I'm not familiar with J2EE technologies like JSP, EJB, servlets, etc. However, if Sun's PR/Marketing department has screwed around with their version numbers as much as they have with J2SE, then it's just a confusing mess. At the moment, the official name/version of the most recent J2SE JDK release is something like J2SE 5.0 JDK 1.5. As you can see, they like to use two different numbers for some reason! It would be best for you to visit the link above to see the official Sun commentary on the version numbers used for various Java technologies.
