hi all,

plz explain me about this exception..

java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified
at java.io.WinNTFileSystem.createFileExclusively(Native Method)
at java.io.File.checkAndCreate(File.java:1157)
at java.io.File.createTempFile(File.java:1242)

As the error message says, you might need to have to a look back at the path that you specified in ur appplication and make sure that the path specified is valid and accessible...

And whether your directory is read-only or writable is needed to be checked, if you are running on security-constraint environment...

The "C:\TEMP" directory (or whichever other directory the machine wants to use for temporary files) may not exist.

Layne,
You are pointing to a good way... I'm not that good in developing applets, but Swing windows applications... I tried to access to the file system from my applet once when I was in college, but I couldn't do that... So I changed it to a windows application, then I can access the file system... I've been told that I need to deal with security-related stuff in JVM or sthing, which I am not familiar with...

It might be the case with the original poster as well...
