I have two applications. One of them requires JRE 5.0 and other one needs JRE 1.4 to run. Do I need to install each of them separatly when I want to envoke the applications? or there is a way out?. In short,I want to interchange between the JRE versions in the easiest possible way.

Hi, welcome to the ranch!

I have several JREs installed. I often start programs from batch files that set up the path, classpath, etc and can include whichever JRE seems appropriate.

I do have some challenges with things that I don't start this way, like which JVM are my applets using right now?
